Although the most common Sphingomyelin (SM) and Dihydrosphingomyelin (DSM) molecular species in most tissue types have a d18:1 or a d18:0 Long-Chain Base (LCB), respectively, some samples types contain a greater diversity of Long-Chain Bases. The most common SM and DSM molecular species having several different Long-Chain Bases combined with numerous different Fatty Amide (FA) chains are given on this page and in the Master List .pdf files linked above. |
